The new CUPRA Raval is based on Volkswagen Group’s updated MEB+ EV platform, the same modular platform being used in other upcoming affordable EVs such as the Volkswagen ID. Polo, Volkswagen ID. Cross, and Skoda Epiq.
In Europe, prices will start at under €26,000, while UK pricing has been confirmed to start at £23,875. This entry-level specification, the ‘Origin’, will pack a 37kWh battery, delivering 113 horsepower. It’s not yet known whether the CUPRA Raval will qualify for the UK’s Electric Car Grant, which could bring that price down further. We’ve reached out to CUPRA for more information.
At this remarkably low price, the CUPRA Raval will compete with a growing number of affordable small EVs, including the Renault 5, while also significantly undercutting EVs such as the Peugeot e-208.
CUPRA will also offer the Raval in V1 or V2 spec, with the option for a 37kWh or 52kWh battery unit. The latter will offer a claimed range of 280 miles, which is impressive for a small city car. Topping off the range is the sporty Raval VZ, bringing a significant power bump – 221 horsepower – and performance-focused additions such as an electronic limited slip differential and dynamic chassis control.

Marcus Gossen, Managing Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, commented:
“The CUPRA Raval is the culmination of an immense amount of hard work, dedication, and effort on all fronts.
Raval is the pinnacle of all things CUPRA – advanced, forward thinking, dynamic. It pushes the boundaries in automotive and encourgages drivers to form a real emotional connection to the drive itself. The combination of striking design, electrifying performance and unconventional features, reimagines what an urban EV can be for a new generation of drivers. This is a fully electric car designed to redefine urban mobility with CUPRA’s emotional and challenger DNA.”
