WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — Two teen boys were airlifted to the hospital Tuesday after one lost control of an e-bike and struck the other, leaving him unconscious.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at the intersection of Greenview Shores Boulevard and Lewes Drive. Witnesses told law enforcement the child was riding his e-bike in front of a group of children before suddenly losing control and striking another boy.

Deputies say the rider sustained a large laceration to the corner of his mouth and chin after falling from the bike. He also said he does not remember how the crash happened.
The child struck by the e-bike reported leg and neck pain, as well as a loss of consciousness during the incident, according to the news release.

Fire rescue crews chose to airlift the teens due to their ages and possible head trauma. Both boys were alert and conscious when deputies arrived, according to PBSO.
