Nigeria’s automotive market has received a significant boost as Jetour introduces its T2 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), a model designed to redefine the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment by combining off-road toughness with cutting-edge electric technology.

The T2 PHEV enters the market as a versatile option for motorists seeking durability, efficiency and modern comfort. With an imposing design measuring 4,785mm in length, 2,006mm in width and 1,875mm in height, the SUV commands attention while offering practical space for both urban and long-distance driving.

According to Jetour Nigeria, the vehicle has been engineered to strike a seamless balance between performance and efficiency. It delivers a refined driving experience, catering to city commuters and adventure enthusiasts alike, while maintaining premium comfort standards.

To ensure nationwide accessibility, the model is being distributed through a network of accredited dealers, including Elizade Nigeria Limited, Kojo Motors, Mandilas Autos and other key partners across the country.

A defining feature of the T2 PHEV is its dual driving capability. The SUV offers impressive fuel efficiency when running on petrol, while also providing a fully electric mode for quieter, emissions-reduced driving. This flexibility is expected to help motorists cut fuel costs while aligning with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s push towards cleaner energy and reduced carbon emissions.

Jetour has also addressed one of the biggest concerns surrounding electric vehicles – range anxiety. The T2 Hybrid supports multiple charging methods, including fast charging, slow charging, engine-assisted charging and regenerative braking. These systems work together to ensure the battery is continually replenished during use.

When battery levels drop, the SUV’s 1.5-litre turbocharged engine automatically functions as a generator, recharging the battery without directly powering the wheels. Energy is stored in a 26.73kWh battery, enabling the vehicle to handle highways, city traffic and rugged terrain with confidence.

The launch builds on Jetour’s growing footprint in Nigeria. The brand was recognised as the Fastest Growing Brand at the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association Awards in 2024, while its Jetour Dashing model secured the country’s Car of the Year title in 2025 – milestones that underscore its rising influence in the local automotive industry.

Safety remains a central focus in the T2 PHEV’s design. The SUV is equipped with multiple airbags, Advanced Emergency Braking, an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, anti-rollover control and a 360-degree camera system offering both 2D and 3D views. Additional features include lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, collision alerts, bend braking control and automatic door locking systems.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle delivers a premium digital experience. A 15.6-inch touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, voice commands and wireless charging. Comfort is enhanced by features such as adaptive cruise control, a panoramic roof, ventilated power seats, a 12-speaker Sony audio system and LED Matrix headlamps.

Performance is further boosted by the advanced three-speed Super E-Hybrid Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), which enables smooth acceleration, efficient energy use and strong climbing ability. Drivers can opt for quiet electric driving for daily commutes or engage the turbocharged system for longer journeys.

Jetour is backing the T2 PHEV with a five-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty, reinforcing confidence in its hybrid technology and long-term reliability.

With the introduction of the T2 Plug-in Hybrid, Jetour is positioning itself at the forefront of Nigeria’s evolving mobility landscape, offering a vehicle that combines adventure, efficiency and innovation – marking a significant step towards smarter and cleaner transportation in the country.
