The Geely Galaxy M9 large plug-in hybrid SUV will get a new variant in China by the end of April. This model has been recently praised by the US media, Edmunds, making headlines. Core upgrades of this 26,705 USD family driver include enhanced ADAS capabilities and the Maybach-inspired color scheme.
The Geely Galaxy M9 entered the domestic market in September 2025 as a 5.2-meter PHEV crossover. China EV DataTracker shows that its cumulative deliveries reached 50,710 units. Previously, the M9 was displayed in Milan, hinting that this car is a part of the brand’s global strategy. According to the leaked internal product planning, the new variant of the Galaxy M9 will enter China in April.

A slide from the internal Geely Galaxy presentation was published on Weibo social media by a car blogger, Yamao. It indicates that the new version of this SUV will get a two-tone Black & Gold exterior color and a dark red interior with faux suede ceiling. Another feature of the cabin is a panoramic roof with a customizable “Starry sky” function. The updated flagship SUV will ride on 21-inch rims.

The last but not least upgrade of the upcoming Geely Galaxy M9 is the G-Pilot H7 assisted driving system that will replace the G-Pilot H5 ADAS of the ongoing model. The new driving assistance system boasts a LiDAR sensor and the Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip with a peak computing power of 700 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second). It replaces the dual Nvidia Orin X setup for 508 TOPS.
The G-Pilot H7 system allows the car to perform the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function on urban roads and highways. It means the Galaxy M9 can drive from address to address on its own. However, the driver still must carefully monitor the process. Other features of the system include the General Automated Evasion System (G-AES) at highway speeds and the autonomous parking.

Previously, the new variant of the Geely Galaxy M9 was spotted in China with a Maybach-inspired two-tone body color. It also adopts blue lights that indicate the car is being operated autonomously. The roof and pillars of the Galaxy M9 are finished with a golden color, while the rest is black. Sales of this model will begin in April 2026.

Otherwise, the new version of the Geely Galaxy M9 will stay in line with the current model. It boasts dimensions of 5205/1999/1800 mm and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. The car has a minimalistic styling and a drag coefficient of 0.285 Cd. The M9 comes standard with a six-seat cabin (a 2+2+2 layout).

The entry-level Galaxy M9 adopts a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for 163 KW (219 hp) and an electric motor for 180 kW (241 hp). The top-trim Galaxy M9 adds two electric motors with a combined power output of 340 kW (456 hp). Two battery options for 18.4 kWh and 41.5 kWh are available. The car’s EV range lies between 100 and 230 km under CLTC conditions.
The Geely Galaxy M9 costs 183,800 – 248,800 yuan (26,705 – 36,150 USD) in China. It is the top-of-the-line car under the company’s new energy vehicle offshoot. It is worth noting that the Geely Galaxy cars sell outside China under the Geely brand. There is a high chance the M9 flagship will enter foreign markets in the near future.
