Guangzhou Automobile Group (HKEX: 2238) has released official spy photos of an all-new rugged off-road SUV from its Trumpchi brand, with the model carrying the internal codename T75 and set to make its world debut at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition on April 24.
The images, shared on the brand’s official Weibo account in early April 2026, show a body-on-frame-style silhouette wrapped in camouflage and built around what the company calls a “boxy” design language — a form factor that has become prevalent across China’s fast-growing off-road segment.

The T75 carries a closed-off front fascia flanked by three vertically stacked daytime running lights on each side. The profile features wide, flared wheel arches fitted with all-terrain tires, side steps, and flush-mounted mechanical door handles. A full-size spare wheel is mounted on a swing-out rear door, which appears to use a side-opening mechanism. The rear end features vertically oriented tail lights and a hidden exhaust layout beneath a thick rear bumper.

A roof-mounted sensor unit is visible in the images and could be a LiDAR unit — possibly supplied by Huawei. Additional sensors sit in the front fenders, pointing to a high-level advanced driver assistance system. Trumpchi has an existing partnership with Huawei through its Qijing brand, and GAC’s recent vehicles including the Hyptec A800 have adopted Huawei’s ADS system. Huawei’s latest vehicles use a 896-line dual optical path LiDAR.

GAC officials confirmed the T75 will be powered by a plug-in hybrid system, with a fuel filler and charging port positioned on opposite rear fenders — a layout now common in Chinese PHEV off-roaders. The company also cited a “digital chassis” as a key technical feature, a term that typically encompasses steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technologies.
Chinese automakers including NIO’s ET9, Chery’s Exeed EX7 and Li Auto’s L9 Livis have been among the first to adopt electromechanical braking in mass-produced vehicles.
Prior to the image release, the T75 completed cold-weather validation testing in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia — one of China’s coldest regions, where temperatures can fall below -30°C. Test footage showed the vehicle ascending a snowy slope with a 30% gradient. The vehicle is also said to feature air suspension.

The project was formally approved by GAC Group’s board of directors on November 22, 2024, with total development investment reported at 512.65 million CNY (c. $74.48 million). The Trumpchi brand delivered 39,391 vehicles in China during the January-to-February 2026 period.

The T75 enters a market segment under intense competition. Great Wall Motor’s Tank brand and BYD’s Yangwang have established strong footholds in the PHEV off-road space, while Geely Automobile will also debut its Galaxy Cruiser 700 plug-in hybrid off-roader at the same Beijing show. The event runs from April 24 to May 3, with press days on April 24–25 and the public exhibition opening April 28.
No pricing or production specification details have been disclosed ahead of the Beijing Auto Show debut.
Whether the T75’s combination of PHEV hardware, driver assistance technology, and off-road capability is enough to carve out a position against more established names in the segment is something GAC will be hoping to answer in less than three weeks.
