From Surrey Police

Yesterday evening (Thursday) officers from Epsom’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, East Surrey Neighbourhood Enforcement Team and Special Constabulary worked together to tackle known issues in the borough of Epsom and Ewell.
One of these priorities is the use of illegal and dangerous and electric motorcycles and scooters in public areas, namely in Long Grove Park.
Officers were tipped off by members of the public that youths with face coverings on were taking the scenic route on footpaths on a large E-scooter and two twist throttle motorcycles at speed in Long Grove Park. The park was being enjoyed by many children and dog-walkers.
Having spotted an officer blocking a gate, they sped to the next one, then the next one, then the next one. A quick reaction meant that officers managed to contain the park leaving the riders nowhere to run, or ride.
Officers managed to detain all riders for a search, and all three unregistered, illegal vehicles were subsequently seized pending an appointment with the crusher. A small cannabis vape was also seized for destruction from a young person, and community resolution issued.
If you are riding an illegal scooter or motorcycle and trying to evade police, your time will come.
We are committed to tackling this issue in our community to ensure people can enjoy public spaces as they are intended to be used.
Please continue to report anti-social behaviour including the use of scooters and motorcycles.
Another couple of Sur-Rons taken off the streets. It seems these “stealthy” bikes aren’t quite invisible to our officers in unmarked vehicles
