GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 36-year-old Greensboro woman died Thursday after an early-morning crash involving an e-bike and a pickup truck near Randleman Road and Glendale Drive, police said.

Greensboro police, Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS responded at about 6:50 a.m. to the crash.

Investigators said a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling south on Randleman Road when Alyssa Wingfield, 36, who was also traveling south on an e-bike, was in the left turning lane near Glendale Drive. As the vehicles neared the intersection, the e-bike turned abruptly to the right into the path of the F-150 and was struck.

First responders began lifesaving measures at the scene, and Wingfield was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries. Police said next of kin has been notified.

Police said neither excessive speed nor impairment on the part of the truck driver was a factor in the crash. The Greensboro Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate.
