Today we are behind the wheel of the brand new **2025 CUPRA Terramar** in the top-tier **VZ (Veloz) Plug-In Hybrid** variant. Built alongside the Audi Q3 in **Gyor, Hungary**, this aggressive SUV is designed to deliver both emotion and efficiency.
Under the hood is a **1.5-liter TSI turbocharged 4-cylinder** paired with a powerful electric motor, generating a combined **272 HP (200 kW)**. With a large 19.7 kWh battery, it promises around 100 km of pure electric range.
But how does this heavy (1850+ kg) front-wheel-drive performance SUV handle when you push it to the limit?
🔥 JOE’S TEST REALITY CHECK:
Factory claims 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
**My Dragy measurement (0-100 km/h): 6.9 seconds!** 📈
(It is rare to beat the manufacturer’s claims, but the Terramar VZ does exactly that! The instant torque from the electric motor combined with the 6-speed DSG provides a brutal and highly effective launch).
⛽ **CONSUMPTION & COSTS:**
Factory (Combined WLTP): **~1.1 l/100 km** (assuming a fully charged battery).
**Joe Black Test: ~6.7 l/100 km.** ⛽
(When you run out of electric charge or decide to drive it dynamically in hybrid mode, the 1.5 TSI engine takes over. For a nearly 1.9-ton SUV with 272 HP, 6.7 liters is still a very respectable real-world result!).
