Seen at the Toyota Automobile Museum (Nagakute City, Japan) in December 2024. It was the first time I can remember seeing a Tatra car (or any Czechoslovak car) in person. The Tatra 87 was designed before World War II as the second mass-produced streamlined Tatra, and resumed production after the war. The 85-horsepower V8 engine could take the car to almost 100 miles per hour and maintained an average fuel economy of almost 19 mpg according to author Karel Rosenkranz. The Tatra 87 also had a rear-mounted engine and triple headlights.
