Australians Seek Fuel Savings with Hybrid and PHEV Deals
With petrol prices soaring and diesel already a significant expense, Australian motorists are actively seeking more economical ways to keep their wheels turning. Searches for fuel-efficient vehicles, particularly hybrids and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), have surged as consumers look to reduce their running costs. To help ease the pressure at the bowser, many of the country’s leading car brands are rolling out attractive discounts and special offers on their popular hybrid models.
While this is by no means an exhaustive list, and many of these deals are time-limited, it offers a snapshot of the savings currently available across Australia.
Mazda’s Plug-in Hybrid Offering
Mazda is presenting a compelling offer on its 2025-plate CX-60 P50e Pure plug-in hybrid. This model is available for $53,990 drive-away, representing a substantial saving estimated to be between $13,000 and $17,000, depending on the state of registration.
Hyundai’s Extensive Hybrid Line-up
Hyundai is rolling out a broad array of drive-away deals across its diverse hybrid range, which spans from sedans to small, medium, and large SUVs.

BYD’s Plug-in Hybrid Ute and Sedan Deals
BYD is offering its popular Shark 6 Premium plug-in hybrid ute for $57,900 drive-away, provided the ute is ordered before the end of the current month and delivered by April 19th. This offer translates to savings ranging from $1983 to $5953, varying by state registration. Additionally, the entry-level Sealion 6 PHEV is available with a drive-away deal of $42,990, equating to a discount of $1770 to $4568.

Mitsubishi Outlander and Eclipse Cross PHEV Savings
Mitsubishi is running a clearance sale on its Model Year 2024 (MY24) Outlander plug-in hybrid. The campaign includes cash bonuses and discounts across the entire line-up. Notably, the Exceed, Exceed Tourer, and GSR variants are receiving a $10,000 reduction. The Outlander PHEV Aspire models benefit from a $5000 price cut, while the ES grade receives a $3000 cash bonus. These cash bonuses can be applied directly as a reduction to the final negotiated price.
Furthermore, the Japanese manufacturer is offering runout drive-away pricing for the Model Year 2024 Eclipse Cross plug-in hybrid. The ES trim is priced at $45,490 drive-away, the Aspire at $49,440 drive-away, and the Exceed at $54,190 drive-away.

GWM’s Generous Discounts
GWM is offering significant savings on several of its models. The Cannon Alpha PHEV sees a $6000 discount, bringing the Lux grade to $51,490 drive-away and the Ultra to $58,490 drive-away. The Haval H6 GT PHEV is now $2000 off, priced at $51,990 drive-away, and the Haval H7 Hybrid also receives a $2000 discount, now available for $44,990 drive-away.
Across the Haval H6 hybrid and plug-in hybrid ranges, GWM is providing $4000 discounts. A special promotion is also in place, offering all-wheel-drive versions at the same price as their regular hybrid counterparts. These models now range from $36,990 to $43,990 drive-away.

The Haval Jolion small SUV also features discounts: $2000 off the Lux Hybrid ($33,990 drive-away), $3000 off the Premium Hybrid ($29,990 drive-away), and $4000 off the Vanta Hybrid ($35,990 drive-away). The Tank 500 Ultra PHEV is available with a $2000 discount, priced at $77,990 drive-away.
Chery’s Hybrid and ‘Super Hybrid’ Promotions
Chery is offering attractive drive-away deals on a selection of its hybrids and ‘Super Hybrid’ plug-ins. These promotions cover the Tiggo 4, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8 ranges and are valid until the end of the current month.

MG and Kia Hybrid Special Offers
MG is providing discounts across its hybrid range, with $500 off the MG 3 hatch, $1000 off the ZS small SUV, and $2000 off the HS mid-size SUV.
Kia is quoting special-offer drive-away prices for its hybrid models: $44,490 for the Sportage Hybrid S FWD, $59,990 for the Carnival Hybrid S, and $59,490 for the Sorento Hybrid S FWD.
Nissan’s Finance and E-Power Deals
The Nissan X-Trail range is being offered with competitive finance rates. The outgoing MY25 version comes with a 1 per cent comparison rate over a 36-month term, while the new MY26 version has a 2.9 per cent rate.
Meanwhile, the outgoing MY25 Nissan Qashqai e-Power hybrid, which is soon to be updated, is listed between $50,990 and $58,990 drive-away, depending on the variant. In some Australian states, these represent modest savings of a few hundred dollars compared to their regular pricing.
