Enough updates to keep it the best seller? 2026 Toyota RAV4 review
This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 compact, hybrid SUV.
Gone is the gas model, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 is now available in a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. We’ve got the hybrid this week with a 2.5L 4-cylinder with Toyota’s 5th generation hybrid system, it’s matched to an eCVT and gets a combined 236 horsepower.
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 gets some nice updates to the exterior, interior, technology, the structural rigidity has increased improving ride comfort and handling as well the cabin noise level and vibrations has also improved.
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 has very similar dimensions to the outgoing model, it’s not any bigger. In fact the wheelbase is exactly the same. The only difference is a little less height compared to the 2025 model. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 hybrid is available in Core, Sport and Rugged trims. We are driving the Woodland in Urban Rock it’s your more adventurous outdoor looking RAV4 with all-terrain tires, raised roof rails with cross bars, a black hammerhead front with a split upper and lower grille and integrated RIGID Industries LED fog lamps. The Woodland model is about half an inch higher because of the all-terrain tires, it has 8.5” of ground clearance. Other RAV4 hybrid models 8.1”.
In Canada, standard AWD, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 LE starts at $40,583, XLE $44,383, Woodland $50,083, XSE $53,983, XSE Tech $55,533, Limited $55,083 (Includes, freight, PDI and fees).
In the US, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 LE FWD/AWD $31,900/$33,300, SE FWD/AWD $34,700/$36,100
XLE Premium FWD/AWD $36,100/$37,500, Woodland $39,900, XSE $41,300
Limited $43,300.
2026 Toyota RAV4 fuel economy varies depending on the trim, I’ll share the popular XLE AWD numbers.
5.2L/100 km, 45 MPG city and 6.1L/100 km, 39 MPG highway.
Most 2026 Toyota RAV4 hybrid models can tow 3500 pounds. There are some exceptions, the LE model and FWD models tow less at 1,750 pounds.
