New JAC Hunter PHEV prototype spotted towing 3500kg
Prototype 2026 JAC T9 Hunter PHEV spotted towing around 3500kg in Australia. It’s scheduled to go on sale mid-2026, featuring a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder plug-in hybrid. Total system output is set to be around 385kW and 1000Nm, making it one of the most powerful utes on the market.
It will also boast a 3500kg braked towing capacity and 1000kg payload. Unlike regular diesel utes on the market, the JAC Hunter PHEV use an electric e-motor rear axle with no tailshaft running through the centre. However, unlike rivals such as the BYD Shark, the Hunter will come with front and rear diff locks.
