Today we are testing a brand new contender on the market: the **2026 Chery Tiggo 9 CSH** (Chery Super Hybrid) in the top-of-the-line **Prestige** trim.
This is a massive, 7-seater luxury SUV built to challenge the European premium class. Under the hood lies a highly advanced powertrain: a 1.5-liter Turbo combustion engine (143 HP) working together with powerful electric motors (capable of 462 HP on their own). The combined system output is an impressive **428 HP** and **580 Nm** of torque. All this power is sent to all four wheels (AWD) via a unique 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (3DHT).
But how does this 2,233 kg giant handle on the road?
🔥 JOE’S TEST REALITY CHECK:
Chery confidently claims a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds.
**My Dragy measurement (0-100 km/h): 6.8 seconds!** 📉
(That is a massive 1.4-second difference. While 6.8 seconds is still a fantastic result that pushes you into your seat in such a huge 7-seater, it clearly shows that PHEVs rarely hit their brochure numbers in the real world. They are extremely sensitive to battery charge levels, traction, and weather conditions. Paper accepts everything, but you can’t cheat physics!).
⛽ **CONSUMPTION & COSTS:**
**Joe Black Test (Dynamic/Mixed Driving): 7.3 l/100 km.** ⛽
(When the large battery is depleted and you demand dynamics from a 2.2-ton SUV, the small 1.5L engine has to work hard. Despite this, achieving 7.3 liters in a real-world, daily test is a very reasonable fuel consumption for a vehicle of this size).
