2024 - 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV

Chevrolet

The all-electric pickup truck market isn’t as robust or prosperous as many imagined it would be by now. The Ford F-150 Lightning got the axe in favor of a range-extended model – much like the upcoming Ram 1500 REV that will use a gas engine to supply power to its electric motors that turn the wheels. That said, there are still some relevant electric trucks on sale today that we feel are worth a test drive. See the Chevrolet Silverado EV, for example.

This electric Chevy with a bed can be a comfortable family truck, a clean off-road vehicle, or a simple workhorse with towing and hauling capacities that rival other half-ton models. What we’re here to answer today, though, are questions about the Chevy Silverado EV price, how it compares to rivals, and if it’s worth upgrading to the more luxurious GMC Sierra EV. That said, here’s what you need to know about the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV, its more luxurious counterpart, and one of its rivals that we feel excels in all categories.

All specifications have been sourced directly from the manufacturer. Pricing is correct at the time of writing, and excludes destination, options, taxes, and other potential fees set by dealerships. Automakers reserve the right to change pricing at any time without notice.

The answer to all of your Silverado EV starting price questions begins with the Custom trim level. Out of the model’s three trims, the Custom variant is the cheapest at $55,895 before destination, options, and other fees. That might sound expensive – because it is for most people these days – but it’s not too far above the national average for new car prices. Plus, $55k is relatively cheap when compared to other electric pickup trucks on sale. That said, the base model is, well, basic. Buyers won’t find many comfort features until they reach the LT trim. We’ll get into the details of each trim and what they come with next.

Silverado EV Custom

The lowest Chevy Silverado EV cost comes in the form of the Custom trim with a Standard battery (as opposed to the Extended or Max batteries). In this form, the model can only drive up to an estimated 286 miles before needing to hit the charger. Nevertheless, it’s still an impressive electric truck for the price. For just $55,895, the Custom trim has 510 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Two electric motors – one for each axle – gives the truck standard all-wheel drive, too. It might be fairly basic inside, but a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system makes it feel more modern.

Silverado EV LT

Coming in at $69,100 is the LT trim level. In this variant, buyers won’t have the rugged styling and two-inch body lift like the Trail Boss that costs less than a grand more, but it makes for a more comfortable ride. Like the rest, this model has room for five people inside, and a standard 17.7-inch infotainment system. What sets it apart is a Bose premium sound system, heated front seats and rear outboard seats, ventilated front seats, and much more.

Silverado EV Trail Boss

The most expensive trim level is the Trail Boss, which is new for the 2026 model year. This off-road variant comes with the same name applied to other Chevy trucks with bigger tires, styling upgrades, and more rugged capabilities. With these upgrades, it sounds like this version wouldn’t perform as well on pavement as the other two trims. However, according to the automaker, this trim can still drive up to 478 miles on a single charge when equipped with the Max Battery. Not to mention the fact that it comes with an Extended Battery as standard with 410 miles of range.

Chevrolet

The Silverado EV is fairly impressive for the price. One aspect we’re surprised to see in a pickup truck is its 478 miles of range. That’s just its on-paper estimate when properly equipped; GM engineers technically drove a WT trim model over 1,000 miles on a single charge last year. Towing capacities range from 7,000 pounds to 12,500 pounds, depending on the trim, battery, and other configurations. It can also haul more than some rivals, with a maximum payload capacity of 2,350 pounds.

“This truck still feels enormous despite having rear-wheel steering, which is less advanced than the system used in the Hummer. The massive size combined with massive power results in some interesting handling characteristics. You can quickly zoom past traffic without effort, though quick maneuvers still feel unsettling due to the nearly 9,000-pound curb weight.”

Rivian R1T Truck vs Silverado EV2026 Rivian R1T Truck Quad Motor

Rivian

While this article is mostly about the Chevy Silverado EV’s price tag, we wanted to put it into perspective by highlighting a couple of rivals. The first model we’ll touch on is the Rivian R1T – a model we feel is capable of tackling everything you throw at it. However, it’s not all that affordable. Buyers could save tens of thousands of dollars by buying a base model Silverado EV, or they could choose a better-looking, more capable Rivian.

2026 Rivian R1T Specs, Trims, And Pricing

We prefer the Rivian for a few reasons. That said, no matter which model you end up with, you’ll be paying far more for it than any Chevrolet. The R1T starts at $72,990 before destination for the Dual Standard trim. It comes with 533 horsepower, but only 270 miles of range. All-wheel drive is standard, as are drive modes like All-Terrain, Snow, and Sport. For up to 420 miles of range, buyers must choose the Dual trim for at least $79,990, then choose the optional Max Battery. Even without the optional larger battery, the Dual trim level can still drive 329 miles. For the ultimate performance on and off the pavement, Rivian offers tri-motor and quad-motor models that make 850 hp and 1,025 hp, respectively. Below are the current available trim levels and their base prices.

Though it’s built on the same platform as the Silverado EV, the GMC Sierra EV is a premium alternative to its Chevy counterpart. Some specs are identical, since they share the same batteries, motors, and more, but this GMC is tuned for slightly higher outputs depending on your configuration.

2026 GMC Sierra EV Specs, Trims, And Pricing

There are three trims to choose from, including the Elevation (base model), AT4 (off-road model), and the Denali (premium model). No matter which trim you choose, you’ll be left with a nicer interior and better styling than the Silverado EV. When properly configured, it has the same 478 miles of maximum range as the Chevy, as well as its maximum towing capacity of 12,500 pounds. All trims have standard all-wheel drive, too.

Summary: Silverado EV Price Isn’t Too Bad2024 - 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV

Chevrolet

In the small world of all-electric pickup trucks in the United States, the Chevrolet Silverado EV’s price tag could be worse. With a base price of only $55,895, buyers can step into a relatively capable electric truck. However, that version has under 300 miles of range; to make it a more practical daily driver or work truck, we recommend upgrading to a larger battery. Buyers who need more range must upgrade to the LT or Trail Boss trims, which have access to the Extended and Max batteries. If that’s not appealing, then rivals like the Rivian R1T offer better performance and a nicer interior for higher price tags.
