BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Things are revving up at day two of the Lehigh Valley Auto Show.
We’re learning the story behind a car that is being manufactured in our region.
“Bez became a dream a number of years ago,” Randy Seidel, President and CEO of BEZ, said.
Manufacturer Randy Seidel designed this micro-electric vehicle with three people in mind: His granddaughters.
“The actual name of BEZ, is named after the three girls, Bailey, Emma and Zoe,” Seidel said.
These compact vehicles are designed to efficiently get around places like resorts communities and universities.
“What’s really innovative about our design is that we can drive the car with one wheel, and the other three wheels are generating the power back into the battery, so the battery lasts a long time,” Seidel said.
BEZ is currently manufactured in Emmaus and in Mexico.
“We think it’s going to be a world wide market product,” Seidel said.
And its all thanks to Randy’s granddaughters.
“The whole vision of the car was for them, and they’re such an integrative part of my life and they’re just adorable, it was just a great idea,” Seidel said.
