GEELY Motor Philippines has opened pre-selling for the Geely EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV, just as fuel prices increased the past days.
The EX5 EM-i is a plug-in hybrid compact SUV positioned to rival the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, but with an entry-level variant priced significantly lower than its BYD competitor.
Although the vehicle has yet to be officially launched, key powertrain details have already appeared on Geely’s website. The Philippine-spec EX5 EM-i features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, mated to Geely’s Electronic Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (E-DHT). The system produces 217 horsepower and 262 Newton-meters of torque.

With an 18.4-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the EX5 EM-i offers a claimed pure electric driving range of 83 kilometers (km) and a combined range of up to 943 km.

Like the fully electric EX5, the EX5 EM-i’s interior emphasizes technology and a modern layout. Full Philippine specifications have yet to be announced, but preview images show a full-width air vent across the dashboard along with two large displays: a 15.4-inch infotainment screen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
The system runs on Geely’s Flyme operating system and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Pricing starts at P1.288 million for the EX5 EM-i Pro, while the EX5 EM-i Max is priced at P1.468 million.
Reservations are now open ahead of the model’s official launch, with early customers eligible for priority allocation. Mall display activations are also scheduled across Metro Manila, allowing potential buyers to see the EX5 EM-i in person.
Geely is also offering several limited-time promotions tied to the pre-order period. The Reserve and Save offer running from March 1-27 allows customers to place a P1,000 reservation for a P10,000 discount.
The Born Super Hybrid promotion, available from March 1 to May 31, offers P50,000 off EX5 EM-i variants. Meanwhile, the Refer & Earn program running from March 3 to May 31 provides both the referrer and the referred buyer with P4,000 worth of periodic maintenance service vouchers for every successful referral.
Buyers who purchase the vehicle during the promotional period will also be entered into the EX5 EM-i Nubia raffle, running from March 5 to April 30, 2026, with a chance to win one of 20 ZTE Nubia Neo 5 smartphones.
