Hyundai sub-4 metre electric SUV has been spotted testing in India once again. This time, the upcoming EV was seen at a charging station in Goa, giving a closer look at some new details. The new model is expected to target the high-volume sub-4 metre SUV segment in the country.
Hyundai is currently expanding its electric vehicle lineup in India, and this upcoming SUV could become an important model in the brand’s EV strategy.
Spotted At Charging Station In Goa

The test vehicle was seen charging at an EV station in Goa. It was still covered in heavy camouflage, hiding most of its design details.
Interestingly, another electric vehicle was also seen parked next to it, which appears to be the Kia Carens Clavis EV GT Line variant.
Even though the Hyundai SUV was camouflaged, some design elements were visible. The vehicle has a tall stance and a boxy shape, which usually helps create more cabin space.

Upright Design For More Space
The rear section of the SUV looks quite upright, which could help maximise both interior room and boot capacity.
It also appears to have roof rails and a flat roofline, suggesting that Hyundai is focusing on practicality and family usability with this upcoming EV.
These design elements indicate that the model could be positioned as a compact yet spacious electric SUV for Indian buyers.
New Alloy Wheels Seen
Earlier test vehicles of this upcoming Hyundai EV were spotted with steel wheels. However, the latest test mule gets a new set of alloy wheels.
These wheels feature a geometric multi-spoke design and are likely around 16 or 17 inches in size.
Such wheel designs are commonly used in electric vehicles because they can help improve aerodynamics while maintaining a modern look. The new wheels may also suggest that Hyundai is now testing more production-ready versions of the SUV.
Hyundai’s First EV Developed In India
Hyundai has already confirmed that it is working on a new electric SUV designed specifically for India. The project is part of the brand’s plan to strengthen its EV portfolio in the country.
This upcoming model will also become Hyundai’s first electric car to be developed and built from the ground up in India.
India is an important market for Hyundai, as it is now the third-largest automobile market in the world. The company plans to develop EVs in India not only for local buyers but also for export to global markets.
Positioning In Hyundai’s EV Lineup
Once launched, the new EV is expected to sit below the Hyundai Creta Electric in Hyundai’s electric lineup.
It could compete with popular compact electric SUVs such as the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra XUV3XO EV.
Hyundai may price the SUV competitively to attract buyers in the fast-growing electric SUV segment.
