I've been looking at some cars as a first time driver that's reliable, but also not going to break the bank, as I'm still young and really just need something that will get me to work and around town. Ive mainly been checking out Facebook Marketplace, and recently saw a Chevy Prizm with a Toyota Corolla factory transmission. The listed had fairly limited information, only saying smog check has been done and passed, clean title, and plates paid until 2027, as well as roughly 158k miles.

I was also able to get the VIN number and didn't see anything too serious apart from in 2010 there was an issue with the suspension which I would assume has been fixed since then, I added a picture below (but you know what they say about assuming lol).

Im mainly wondering if anyone has any more knowledge on the car, if it's good and won't need too many major fixes after driving it around for a while. Obviously I know id need to check it out in person and do a test drive or possibly hiring a local mechanic to give a more professional opinion, and i'd rather not waste the sellers time if it's not even worth it (they live about 40 mins away). I've added some extra photos of the listing below for anyone who's curious or can get a better idea by simply even looking at it.

Like I said before there isn't any major damage to just the body besides some chips and the paint fading, and it looks like the back left window might have some issues with the sealing around it (?? not sure if that's the right way to phrase it?) which isn't a dealbreaker to me as long as the whole inside is all good lol. I know Toyota on its own is a great brand when it comes to cars, which is why i'm not sure if the chevy just having the transmission matters at all if it still has the same engine.

It was also listed originally for $2,200, but recently I saw it reposted again for $1,900, hence why i'm even making this post to ask, as the price going down could be suspicious but again i'll assume it's bc the seller wasn't getting too many offers, but i imagine lowering the price might help so if its good i'd rather snatch it up now while i can.

give me any answers if anyone knows ! thank you :]
