Neither of us are fans, and I explain exactly why I think PHEVs are being oversold to everyday buyers. The claimed electric range? It’s not what you’ll actually experience – and it quietly gets worse year after year.
I also share something that surprises most people about how often I charge my pure EV, which puts the “EVs are a hassle” myth to rest pretty quickly.
We then pull back the curtain on some uncomfortable industry issues like sales people who often know less about EVs than the customer does, lobby groups like FCAI and dealership floor financial incentives that may not have your long term servicing cost best interests at heart when you walk into a new car showroom.
