2026 Toyota Rav4 vs KIA Sportage Hybrid | Better Driving or Better Features?
👋 If you have $42,000 to spend on a hybrid crossover, here are two top trim options! Starting MSRP aside from dealer add ons is right around $43k for the 2026 Toyota Rav4 XSE and 2026 KIA Sportage SX Prestige Hybrid. The 2026 Rav4 is all new for it’s 6th generation and Toyota really made a solid SUV! I like how well it steers and drives. It’s a tough built vehicle with a fantastic driving dynamic. I also really like how smooth the acceleration is. Even though the standard hybrid is down on power over the Sportage. It’s very smooth. PHEV Rav4 isn’t much more money and packs the same levels of power as the Kia Turbo. The Rav4 interior has lots of soft touch materials and the hard plastics are painted in a nice satin metallic grey. Honestly it looks premium and nice. Sportage interior looks good, but the textured plastics honestly look a bit cheap to me. But it has ambient lighting. The KIA Sportage has a lot of interior space! Since you can recline the back seats a lot more, it makes rear facing car seats fit amazing! I can sit comfortable in the front passenger seat in the Kia. Rav4 is pretty tight to sit there. Kia also has plenty more options for the money like a panoramic roof, turn signal cameras and remote driving. However the Kia has a bit of lag in acceleration. Plenty of times when I floor it, i need to wait for the engine to turn on, and then the turbo to make boost. So it’s hard to drive in quick situations. Has plenty of top end power. But the delay is annoying. Rav4 is intent power since it has an eCVT. Steering is pretty gauge in the Sportage and I with it was a bit more direct. Also the climate controls in the screen for the Rav4 do take a few seconds to appear since the whole screen needs to turn on first. The Sportage climate screen turns on instant and long before the multi media screen turns on. So it’s a toss up on the two. Overall I think if you want a nice economical hybrid crossover, these certainly are great options! Both look good overall!
