Harbinger has launched the HC Series Cab, a medium-duty low cab forward truck available in electric and plug-in hybrid form with up to 500 miles of range
Harbinger has unveiled the HC Series Cab, a medium-duty low cab forward (LCF) work truck available to order in both electric and plug-in hybrid configurations, at Work Truck Week 2026 in Indianapolis. The vehicle carries a 26,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and is designed to accommodate a wide range of body types including cargo boxes, stake beds and flatbeds.
The plug-in hybrid variant uses a petrol engine to recharge its batteries, extending range to up to 500 miles depending on configuration and drive cycle. Both models include an optional onboard AC inverter delivering up to 15 kilowatts of exportable power, enabling jobsite tools and equipment to run directly from the vehicle without a separate generator. The hybrid system can sustain continuous 15-kilowatt output through onboard generation.

The LCF architecture allows longer cargo boxes on shorter wheelbases, increasing usable cargo volume without extending overall vehicle length. The platform achieves a turning diameter of 42 feet on its 158-inch wheelbase and a frame height of approximately 29 inches at GVWR, supporting frequent entry and exit on urban routes.
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping are due to be added across the medium-duty range in 2026, following Harbinger’s acquisition of Phantom AI. The platform is engineered for a service life exceeding 450,000 miles.
John Harris, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Harbinger, said: “For too long, fleets have had to compromise between payload, maneuverability, range and onboard capability. We engineered this platform to outperform legacy diesel options while unlocking new advantages through electrification and our range-extended hybrid system to enable real work in the field.”
