WATERTOWN — An 18-year-old had to be taken to a Syracuse hospital after he was hit on his e-bike Tuesday night, city police say.
Watertown police say a 71-year-old Watertown woman was driving west on Coffeen Street in a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder, turning left onto Bellew Avenue, while the 18-year-old was driving an e-bike east on Coffeen Street with its headlight on when the vehicles collided in the intersection.
Police say the e-bike operator had the right of way.
Police did not identify either motorist.
City police were assisted on scene by the city of Watertown Fire Department, Guilfoyle Ambulance, state police, and Jefferson County’s Emergency Management 911 Center.
Police say their crash management team and evidence team responded to the scene and the accident is under investigation.
