CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago’s Divvy bike-share system is raising its prices as the program works to maintain and expand services, according to its website.

The new rates will take effect March 11, 2026, and updated pricing will appear in the Divvy app and on its website.

Several per-minute rates for members are increasing:

Bike rides will rise from 19 cents to 20 cents per minute, after the included 45 minutes

E-bike rides will increase from 19 cents to 20 cents per minute; rides between 31 and 45 minutes are capped at $6

Scooter rides will increase from 31 cents to 34 cents per minute

Divvy is also increasing fees for rides that end outside of docking stations. Out-of-station parking for e-bikes and scooters will rise from $1.30 to $2 for members and from $2.60 to $3 for casual riders.

The parking fee only applies when a ride ends outside a station. Members can still park e-bikes and scooters next to a full station at no additional cost.

Divvy says the changes are meant to encourage responsible parking and help keep bikes available in high-demand areas.

Day pass pricing is also increasing from $18.10 to $19.90. They will still include unlimited rides up to three hours throughout the day, though rides longer than that will see the typical overage rate increase from 19 cents to 20 cents per minute.

Divvy says the price increases will help support bike and scooter maintenance, system upgrades, improved parking compliance and increased bike availability.
