MIAMI — A Miami woman was arrested Thursday on allegations that she shot a man while he was riding an electric bike late last year in the city’s Little River neighborhood, police confirmed.

According to an arrest report, Jakeria Foster, 28, of Overtown, was taken into custody by the Miami Police Department in connection with the shooting that occurred on Nov. 17, 2025.

Police said officers were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. to the 7600 block of North Miami Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert detected two gunshots.

After arriving at the scene, police said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower back near North Miami Avenue and Northwest 71st Street.

The victim told police a Black woman shot at him and then fled north on North Miami Avenue before he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition, according to the report.

Investigators said they later reviewed surveillance video from Zanmi Market and a home in the area.

They said the footage showed the victim, who is in his 30s, speaking with two women while on his e-bike before riding away south on North Miami Avenue.

A woman described as heavy-set and wearing a white shirt and pants was seen following him and raising her hand in his direction before appearing to fire a gun, the report stated.

The video also captured the woman yelling, “I told your a** to not come around here,” after the gunshot, investigators said.

A witness told detectives that he heard two gunshots while driving nearby and saw a person wearing a white shirt holding a gun and firing a round before fleeing south, according to the report.

The report stated that another witness later identified Foster as the shooter and told detectives the confrontation began after children told the woman the victim had been watching them while they were playing in the backyard of a nearby home. That witness said an argument occurred right before the shooting.

Detectives said they later searched a laundry room at a residence in the 7600 block of North Miami Avenue and recovered clothing believed to have been worn by Foster during the shooting, according to the report.

Investigators said the victim later told detectives he was riding his e-bike near North Miami Avenue and Northwest 76th Street when a woman shot at him. He said he did not know Foster personally.

They said Foster was located and arrested Thursday near the intersection of Northwest Second Court and Northwest Seventh Street.

Police said she declined to speak with investigators.

Jail records show Foster is facing one count each of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use or display of a firearm while committing a felony.

She was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Friday morning.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.
