Lotus “For Me” Plug In Hybrid Eletre Revealed With 939 Horsepower

Lotus has revealed a powerful new hybrid SUV in China called the Lotus For Me, and the performance numbers are incredible. With 939 horsepower, a massive 70 kilowatt hour battery, and up to 880 miles of total range, this new version of the Eletre could redefine the hybrid performance SUV segment.

The Lotus For Me plug in hybrid uses a new Hyper Hybrid system that combines a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with dual electric motors. This advanced all wheel drive setup delivers extreme performance while still offering impressive electric driving capability.

One of the biggest highlights is the battery. Unlike most plug in hybrids, the Lotus For Me uses a large 70 kilowatt hour battery that can deliver about 220 miles of electric driving range under the Chinese testing cycle. That means many daily trips could be completed using electricity alone.

When the gasoline engine and electric motors work together, the total driving range increases dramatically to an estimated 880 miles. Lotus also equipped the For Me with a 900 volt electrical architecture that allows extremely fast charging, reaching 80 percent in about 8 to 9 minutes under ideal conditions.

With nearly 939 horsepower and acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in about 3.3 seconds, the Lotus For Me is positioned to compete with high performance luxury SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus, Ferrari Purosangue, Aston Martin DBX, and BMW XM.
