HENDERSON (FOX5) — The Henderson City Council has approved an update to the city’s code in an effort to improve e-bike and e-scooter safety.

The updates include requiring riders under 18 to wear helmets on bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters. The code also allows law enforcement officers to impound e-motorcycles operated illegally.

The update also clarifies the definition of an e-motorcycle: a bike that lacks operable pedals and relies on a throttle. Those are illegal to operate in Henderson.

The city says these updates align Henderson’s rules with those used by other local jurisdictions. For more information, click here.
