(Images: Toyota) Toyota’s beefiest RAV4 PHEV gets some new and more distinctive options, but not a larger price tag.
Anytime we see a new car hit the market, especially when it’s a major redesign like the new 2026 Toyota RAV4, we expect a price hike to go with it. At the top end up the lineup, the plug-in hybrid models are sure to be the most expensive of the bunch — and they are. That said, what is surprising is that across the board, the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid model commands a lower MSRP, with even the GR Sport sticking below $50,000 (if only just).
In total, you have four trim options for the PHEV version of Toyota’s latest RAV4. The SE and XSE are sticking around, with price tags of $42,950 and $48,650 respectively. The SE, particularly, sports a price tag $3,315 lower than last year’s model, so that may get a few more would-be buyers in the door.
Then there are the two new models: the Woodland and the GR Sport. The former, with a bit more of a rugged focus, comes in at $46,750, between the SE and XSE. The sportier looking GR Sport tops out the range, with a price tag of $49,950 (including $1,450 destination). So, yes, Toyota managed to keep it under $50K, but man did it price that one under the wire.
In this new generation, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV lineup makes 324 horsepower from its 2.5-liter-backed electrified powertrain. That’s a 22 horsepower bump over the old one, while the all-electric range also improves to 52 miles on the SE and XSE models. On top of that, it gets all the other styling and tech refinements we’ve seen in the rest of the RAV4 lineup.
