“Production is set to begin in the second half of 2026,” Filosa announced during the presentation of Stellantis’s financial results. The first Leapmotor model to be built in Spain will be the B10. While this had been anticipated, it now marks the official confirmation from Stellantis.

As early as mid-December, Ding Yongfei, Global Quality Director at Leapmotor, had outlined corresponding plans during a visit to a supplier in Spain. The supplier is preparing to manufacture chassis components for the Leapmotor B10 locally and deliver them to the nearby Stellantis plant in Figueruelas near Zaragoza.

According to available information, production of B10 components at Lieder Automotive – a newly established joint venture between Duoli Technology from China and the Basque supplier Fagor Ederlan – is set to begin in July 2026. The schedule is in line with the planned start of production for the Leapmotor B10 at the Stellantis facility, as recently confirmed by CEO Antonio Filosa.

While Filosa has so far only confirmed the B10, additional models are expected to follow. According to statements made by Leapmotor manager Ding in December 2025, the models B05, A10, and A05 are also set to roll off the production line in Figueruelas from 2027. However, the small car sold in China as the A10 will be marketed in Europe as the B03X.

The Leapmotor B10 is a 4.52-metre-long battery-electric SUV positioned between the compact and mid-size segments. In Germany, the models currently imported from China are offered from €29,990, while the variant featuring the larger battery and full equipment specification is priced at €33,990.

In an initial test drive, the B10 delivered a convincing performance impression; a detailed review is available separately.

International activities are managed by Leapmotor International, a joint venture owned 51 per cent by Stellantis and 49 per cent by Leapmotor. The entity is responsible for distribution and production of Leapmotor vehicles outside China.

Within China, Leapmotor retains responsibility for development, production and sales. According to the current structure, Leapmotor International does not have access to the Chinese company’s underlying technologies. However, reports indicate that discussions are ongoing regarding potential future use of Leapmotor technologies in Stellantis models, although no official confirmation has been provided.

Leapmotor is also accelerating its European expansion through its distribution network. As recently announced by Stellantis, the Chinese brand is further strengthening its dealer and service footprint within the Stellantis ecosystem. To date, more than 800 sales and service points have been established across Europe, doubling the network compared to 2024.

In 2025, Leapmotor entered additional markets including Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Czechia, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden. As a result, the brand recorded sales of more than 17,000 vehicles in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, up from around 1,300 units in the same period of 2024.
