Tesla has officially shared its 2026 Chinese New Year charging milestones, revealing a massive surge in holiday travel across its Supercharging network.

As of today, March 2, owners have just four days left to participate in the Year of the Horse digital event and secure limited-edition rewards.

The holiday travel period, which ran from February 15 to February 23, saw Tesla owners in Mainland China drive over 98 million kilometres, which is pretty impressive. This collective effort resulted in a carbon reduction of over 30,000 tons, which the company equates to planting roughly 1.22 million trees.

¥50,000 Supercharging Giveaway

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, Tesla is giving away ¥50,000 (approximately $9,500 CAD) in Supercharging credits to one lucky owner. To be eligible for the grand prize, owners must complete two specific tasks by March 6, 2026:

Obtain the “CNY Explorer” Badge: Owners must unlock the binocular-themed digital badge within the Tesla app.
Social Sharing: Users must share their badge page from the app to their social media platforms.

The winner will be selected from the pool of eligible participants based on the highest Supercharging energy usage recorded between February 9 and the contest deadline.

Network Performance and App Features

Tesla’s network in China now features over 2,500 Supercharger stations and 12,700 individual charging piles. During the peak holiday window, the network maintained a 99.95% availability rate while supporting more than 530,000 individual journeys.

Owners can currently view their personalized Charging Footprint in the Tesla mobile app. By navigating to the Charge Stats section, users can see their total energy consumption (kWh) and charging costs specifically for the Year of the Horse celebrations.

Tesla will contact the grand prize winner via its official charging social media account within 7 working days after the event concludes on March 6.
