E-bike rider is seriously injured in crash
A 24-year-old man riding an electric bicycle suffered an internal head hemorrhage and a fractured skull when he was struck by an SUV on Feb. 25 on La Jolla Village Drive at Genesee Avenue.
The crash occurred when a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC being driven west on La Jolla Village Drive struck the eastbound e-bike rider as he was attempting to turn left onto Genesee, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Detectives determined that alcohol was not a factor in the collision, police said. The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the case.
