Chinese automaker XPeng sold 73 vehicles in the Netherlands last month, according to data released by the national association BOVAG on Sunday.
The figures represent a slight increase from the 67 units listed a year ago. Sequentially, registrations jumped 35%.
In February, the best selling model of the fully electric and plug-in hybrid carmaker was the G9 SUV with 43 units followed by the entry-level SUV G6 with 29 vehicles.
Additionally, one P7 sedan vehicle was registered, although it remains unclear wether the car is the newly launched P7 or a previous iteration.
In 2025, XPeng sold a total of 1,402 EVs in the Netherlands — up 7.9% from the 1,299 deliveries recorded in 2024.

Although February 2025 and 2026 had similar results, the year over year and sequential variations reversed.
December marked the brand’s strongest-ever result in the nation — 345 units — and the first time it surpassed 300 registrations in a single month.
EV Adoption
The Netherlands registered 22,380 new passenger cars in February, a 19.6% decline from a year earlier, according to data from industry association BOVAG.
Of those, 6,805 were fully electric, down 33.1% year over year. Battery electric market share fell to 30.4% from 36.6% in February 2025.
Hybrid vehicles accounted for 13,059 registrations, or 58.4% of the market, up from 44.9% a year ago.
The divergence follows a series of policy changes that have eroded the Netherlands’ once-generous EV incentives.
The full tax exemption on zero-emission passenger cars ended at the start of 2025, replaced by a 75% discount that was further reduced to 30% this year. The discount drops to 25% in 2029 and expires in 2030.
The government also raised the bijtelling — a benefit-in-kind tax on leased vehicles — for electric cars from 17% to 22% in 2025, with gradual increases planned to bring the rate in line with petrol vehicles.
Company leases have historically driven the majority of Dutch EV registrations.
Acceptance into BOVAG
In February, XPeng‘s founder and CEO He Xiaopeng announced across his social media accounts that the company had been accepted as a member of BOVAG.
This membership marked the first time a Chinese automaker had joined the Dutch association.
Xiaopeng emphasized, in a LinkedIn post, that the milestone mirrors the brand’s “strong commitment to transparency, consumer protection, and high-quality service.”
Dutch Launch and Portfolio
Exactly four years ago, XPeng announced that it established a partnership with local distributor Emil Frey to form its sales and service network in the Netherlands.
The dealer also represents other major automakers in the country, including BMW, Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, and Renault, as well as the Chinese Great Wall Motor.
That month, XPeng officially presented its P5 sedan as its first model for the Dutch market and opened reservations for it in the country, alongside Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
However, the model’s reservations were halted across Europe altogether in June 2022, due to global supply chain issues.
In February 2023, the automaker launched the G9 SUV and the P7 sports sedan in the Netherlands.
After disclosing in January 2023 that it would be completed by the next month, the company opened its first Delivery and Service center in the country in late June/early July of that year.
In June 2024, the G6 was introduced to the Dutch market, followed by the opening of orders for the 2025-model-year of the coupé SUV and the G9 last July.
In early January, XPeng debuted the updated P7+ simultaneously across 36 countries, including the Netherlands. It substituted the original P7, which had been sold until then.
In the nation, the latest model is currently available from €46,990 — equivalent to $55,400.
The G6 — the cheapest model currently — starts at €41,990 ($49,500), while the
G9 is priced from €57,990 ($68,400).
Upcoming Models
XPeng plans to launch the first batch of its Mona series this year in Europe, as announced by He Xiaopeng last September.
Although it has been roadtesting the first SUV model under the series, the company has not yet disclosed its launch date in the Old Continent.
The X9 seven-seat MPV is also expected to enter European markets later this year, with a UK “mid-year” launch scheduled.
