The car world is shouting about the new tech, but I’m looking at the two-wheelers. Electric motorcycles are quite a bit chunky. Take the Ducati V21L race bike – it’s a masterpiece, but it still weighs about 496 pounds. A huge part of that is just the battery. If we can use solid-state tech to shave off even 20 to 30 pounds, the bike becomes a completely different animal.
Losing that weight gives us sharper turns, better braking, and a bike that doesn’t feel like a lead weight between your legs. Plus, since there’s no flammable liquid, there’s a peace of mind for those of us who sit directly on top of the power source. I quite like my pants un-singed… It’s safer and lighter. And a tad more civilized.
