Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has partnered with Treehouse to provide home EV charger purchasing and installation for customers of 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus electrified vehicles in the US.

The arrangement covers battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).

The US-based software-enabled electrification platform provider will oversee the end-to-end process for Level 2 AC home charging installations.

This includes project scoping, system design, permitting, and on-site installation.

A virtual assessment tool supports the process by generating installation quotes within 48 hours using customer-submitted images and survey responses.

Electrical upgrades and charger hardware installation are carried out by licensed electricians approved by Treehouse, typically during a single visit.

All 2026-model-year and newer Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs sold in the US are supplied with a dual-voltage 120V/240V AC charging cable compatible with both Level 1 and Level 2 charging.

With a maximum output of 7.7kW, the cable can recharge a vehicle from roughly 10% battery level to full overnight under optimal conditions.

Toyota has bundled this cable with BEVs since the 2024 model year and has extended inclusion to PHEVs from the 2026 model year across all US states, beyond requirements in California and other zero-emission vehicle jurisdictions.

TMNA Business Incubation & Development vice president Thibaut de Barros Conti said: “Toyota and Lexus vehicles have a reputation for being easy to own and enjoyable to drive, so the home-charging experience should be as well.

“Treehouse complements our brands and empowers our customers with a one-stop shop to install their home-charging solutions.”

Customers may alternatively choose a hardwired ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger supplied through Treehouse, which the companies said can shorten charging time by up to 30% depending on vehicle and setup.

Treehouse provides a two-year warranty on installation, while ChargePoint offers a three-year warranty on the Home Flex hardware.

The bundled dual-voltage charging cable is covered for three years on Toyota vehicles and four years on Lexus models.

Treehouse co-founder and CEO Eric Owski added: “By bringing seamless, end-to-end home charging solutions into the EV ownership journey, this collaboration with Toyota reflects our shared commitment to making electrification easy and accessible for consumers.”

“Toyota teams with Treehouse on US home EV charging installations” was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
