The Cupra Raval is set to become the first model from a family of four urban electric cars manufactured in Spain for the Volkswagen Group
Seat and Cupra has entered the final phase of preparations for series production of the Cupra Raval, the first fully electric vehicle to be manufactured at its Martorell plant in Spain. The model will lead a family of four urban electric cars being produced in Spain for the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group Core, which also includes the Volkswagen ID. Polo, Skoda Epiq, and Volkswagen ID. Cross.
The Martorell facility has undergone significant adaptation for electric vehicle production, with around 160,000 m² renovated to support the new models. Upgrades include 1,000 new robots in the bodywork phase, 60 component stamping dies, and a 600-metre automated bridge connecting the battery assembly plant to the main production line. The current stage of the process, known as series 0, allows the production team to validate processes and quality standards before full series production begins.

Spain plays a central role in the project’s supply chain, with more than 90 suppliers and 110 production plants accounting for 70% of awarded material costs. Teams across Seat and Cupra and Volkswagen Navarra have completed more than 560,000 hours of training as part of the electrification programme.
In a statement, Markus Haupt, Chief Executive of Seat and Cupra, said: “We are entering a historic year. In Martorell, the epicentre of future mobility, we are in the final phase of series production of the CUPRA Raval, the car that will mark the beginning of a new era for the brand.”
