The Decathlon Btwin E-Three 500 longtail cargo e-bike is now available in various European countries. This electric bicycle builds on an older model, with a larger battery for a longer assistance range. Other features of the 8-speed bike include Suunto suspension and a range of accessories.

Decathlon has released a new e-bike in Europe, the Btwin E-Three 500 longtail cargo e-bike. This model is set to replace the Btwin (formerly Elops) R500E, which the brand has sold for several years.

The new Decathlon Btwin E-Three 500 is an 8-speed e-bike powered by a 60 Nm motor. Users can choose between three modes – Eco, Normal and Boost – with a top assistance speed of 25 kph (~16 mph). This model has a larger battery than its predecessor, with 711 Wh capacity. As such, it has a longer estimated assistance range of 82 km (~51.0 miles) in Eco mode (unloaded), 65 km (~40.4 miles) in Normal mode (unloaded), or 50 km (~31.1 miles) in Normal mode (loaded). Other features include a Suunto suspension fork with 75 mm travel, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes (180 mm), and 20-inch and 26-inch tires.

The Btwin E-Three 500 has a 170 kg (~375 lbs) payload, carrying up to 80 kg (~176 lbs) at the rear and 10 kg (~22 lbs) at the front. The model is B’Clip (curr. €14.47 at Amazon DE) ready, allowing users to attach panniers and baskets as needed. Plus, there are accessories such as an integrated wheel lock, a 60 lux headlight, a handlebar-mounted display, fenders, a skirt guard and a bell. It weighs around 39 kg (~86 lbs), and users can choose between three colors: Abyss Blue, Sorbet Green and Taupe Pink.
