Tesla is back in the spirits game — this time with a design-forward twist.

The company has quietly launched a new Tesla Mezcal | Design Studio Edition in the U.S., priced at $450. The limited-run bottle leans heavily into Tesla’s design ethos, complete with a specially crafted box sleeve that features early sketches of the bottle and printed signatures from Director of Product Design Javier Verdura and Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen.

To make things even more collectible, 50 boxes have been personally signed by Verdura and von Holzhausen themselves, with those autographed editions randomly assigned to orders.

“Smoky and floral with a smooth finish, Tesla Mezcal celebrates Oaxaca’s artisanal Tahona-milled mezcal with an alembic distillation process by intuitively combining the distinct flavors of native Espadín and Bicuishe agaves,” the Tesla Shop product description reads. “The result is a mezcal that is as delicate as it is spicy, with a deep citrus and green apple nose that gives way to soft herbal notes with a delicate smokiness that lingers on the tongue. Finishes with notes of tuberose, jasmine and chamomile that soften into a balanced, velvety mouthfeel.”

The hand-blown glass bottle features a rich black finish inspired by Oaxaca’s Barro Negro pottery tradition. Verdura designed the bottle to honor his Mexican roots and upbringing in Mexico City, with a hand-molded form that celebrates Oaxacan culture, family values, and craftsmanship.

This marks Tesla’s latest foray into branded alcohol following the debut of Tesla Tequila back in 2020, which originally launched for $250 and quickly sold out. A limited-edition set followed in 2022, bundling the tequila with exclusive sipping glasses — and that release didn’t last long either.

Like previous drops, this Design Studio Edition is produced in limited quantities and is only available for delivery in select U.S. states. Buyers must be 21 or older, and all sales are final.

If you’re interested, you can order directly from the online Tesla Shop — but given the price point, limited production run, and the chance of receiving one of 50 personally signed boxes, it may not stay in stock for long.
