



In Germany and some nearby markets, Ellenator refers to a modified version of the Fiat 500 and similar small cars. These vehicles are altered so they are classified legally as a three-wheeled vehicle (category L5e) instead of a standard four-wheel car.
Because of that classification they can be driven with a lighter motorcycle license (A1) from age ~16 in Germany and some EU countries. 
The rear axle is changed so the two rear wheels are very close together and count as one “wheel” under certain legal definitions. The engine is usually detuned to lower power (e.g., about 20 PS / ~14 kW) and a top speed around ~90 km/h.
