The Zeekr 8X large plug-in hybrid crossover from Geely completed a 30,000 km road test across China, covering various conditions. The car was examined in cold northern regions, such as Mohe, and arid areas of Tibet, among others.

In early February, Zeekr said “slow is fast”, describing the current situation around the 8X plug-in hybrid SUV development cycle. Company officials explained that they follow the rules of the quality verification system in all-scenario testing. On February 12, Zeekr shared that the 8X crossover completed a 30,000 km road test in China.

Zeekr 8X completed road test

Zeekr shared that the 8X crossover was taken to an extreme natural testing environment. They included a visit to Mohe city in Heilongjiang province. It is the northernmost place in China with aurora borealis seen at night and temperatures dropping to −53.0 °C. Next, the Zeekr 8X was tested in Tibet grasslands, deserts, and high-altitude passes.

According to the brand’s officials, the Zeekr 8X smoothly completed a 30,000-kilometer road test and verified the reliability and stability. The car’s 900V high-voltage system and all-wheel-drive powertrain performed well in cold and high-altitude environments, thanks to over 10 all-terrain driving modes.

Previously, Zeekr officials highlighted that they will be ready to take the next step with the 8X after it completes all-scenario testing. The completion of the 30,000 km test looks like the final test, after which the company is ready to move on to active marketing of this model.
