At around 10.45am on Monday, January 26, a woman aged in her 50s was cycling on the footpath behind Lidl off of Sea Road North when she was approached by two people on e-motorcycles.

One of them allegedly crashed into the woman’s bike and was later verbally abusive towards her before riding off in the direction of Jessopp Avenue.

The woman sustained minor injuries to her elbows and knees as well as damage to the handlebars of her bike as a result of the crash.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.

The rider who collided with the woman’s bicycle is described as white, around 17 or 18 years old, five feet ten inches and of slim build.

He was wearing a green woolly hat, black facemask, mustard yellow jacket with navy sleeves, black gloves, black trousers with a large white logo and brown shoes with black toecaps and red lace details. He was riding a black motorbike with silver handlebars and red grips.

The other rider was also described as around 17 or 18 years old and was wearing a black full-face helmet with yellow or green on the chin piece, red goggles, a black North Face jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms, dark brown shoes and black gloves with a white patch on. He was riding a black motorbike with orange details.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We would urge anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information relating to the individuals involved, to please contact us.

“We would also like to take this opportunity that electric motorcycles of this kind are illegal to use on the public highway and those caught riding them face having them seized and crushed, as well as being dealt with for any offences.”
