
Subaru is adding yet another 3-row electric vehicle (EV) to its lineup. Jeff Walters, Chief Operating Officer of Subaru America, told Automotive News that a “yet-to-be-revealed three-row EV” is on the way.
Subaru already has 3 two-row EVs to its name: Solterra, Uncharted, and Trailseeker. The Solterra was its debut electric vehicle, released around 3 years ago. In the past year, Subaru announced two new EV SUVs—Uncharted and Trailseeker. These are set to release in the Spring of this year.
Subaru and Toyota have a history of building cars together. The two often release lightly altered versions of the same car, one for each brand. Current sets of twins include:
‘With that in mind, we think Subaru’s new EV might be drawing inspiration from Toyota’s most recent reveal: its Highlander EV.
With this pattern, it seems likely that Subaru is gearing up to release its version of the Highlander EV.
Even though last year saw growing concerns about the future of electric vehicles, it seems some companies are still intent on expanding their EV consumer base.
