Looks different from the concept showcased at EICMA 2025Production version likely in the works
Vida, Hero’s electric two-wheeler subsidiary, has patented the Ubex electric bike design in India. The Ubex was first showcased in concept form at EICMA 2025, and the design patent shows a few differences compared to it. Here’s everything you need to know:
The design patent shows a bike that looks more like a streetfighter, which stands in contrast to the supermoto-like styling seen on the Ubex concept. The sharp beak-like fender at the front has been replaced with a simple one, and it also misses out on handguards.
The profile is also quite different and more in line with traditional streetfighter designs. It gets a fat fuel-tank-like section and a more spacious-looking single-piece seat. Lastly, the design also features a telescopic fork instead of an inverted fork setup, like seen on the concept.
The Ubex concept was a modular platform that could be used to build multiple models. Judging by the design patent, Vida is likely planning to enter the commuter electric bike segment, with the Ubex. A production spec version of the electric is likely in the works and could be unveiled later this year, maybe at Hero World 2026, scheduled for March.
