Buying a new diesel truck hasn’t made sense since September of 2004

Prior to that, diesel had been consistently cheaper than gas to run.

But since then, diesel prices have absolutely skyrocketed compared to gasoline prices. Even though I am only getting about 8-12 MPG out of my 6.6 gas, it is still cheaper to run than the duramax would be.

For cars, diesel still makes some sense, being that you can get 50+ mpg by using it.
