Four dates are now locked in for Cycling Electric’s 2026 Demo Days series, where you can test ride electric bikes and trikes from leading labels on a closed circuit test track.

At the time of writing, our launch offer comes with a 20% discount to any of the events and this year we have upgraded the experience for those returning to cycling, or those wanting a crash course in electric bikes; for the first time, we will host an adult cycle trainer on our tracks, helping those who feel nervous about getting started a helping hand.

Before we show you just some of the electric bikes you can test, here are four dates for your diary:

London Lee Valley Velopark – April 19th – Tickets here

Leeds, Brownlee Centre -June 7th – Tickets here

Bath, Odd Down showground – June 14th – Tickets here

Test ride these electric bikes

While the full list of participating brands is still to be announced, we can reveal our first wave of exhibitors. To get us started, we’re pleased to have on track Riese and Müller, Velo de Ville, Tenways, Roxform, Van Raam, EBCO, Cilo and EGO Movement. Further labels will join the party shortly, but for now, here’s some examples of the e-bikes you can test ride:

Riese and Müller Carrie

Riese & Müller carrie review

View Offer | £6,029

Unique in its design and sustainably made with over 80% of the frame built with recycled aluminium, Riese and Müller stands out in the cargo bike world with its multi-functional Carrie.

With an upright riding position that promotes comfort and a good view of both the road ahead, plus any cargo you may have in the front, the Carrie rides much like a normal bike, yet one that can cart two children, plus plenty of luggage on the rear rack. It is, we think, a true short journey car trip replacement vehicle.

It’s easy to ride too, with a stepless gearing and a pedal assist motor working in tandem to deliver a smooth assist and support, plus the silent and clean operation of a belt drive rather than a chain.

Van Raam Thuja

On the track courtesy of London mobility specialist Bikeworks, Van Raam will bring with it a range of bikes and trikes that offer a thoughtful approach, focused on balanced mobility and adapted cycles.

A model that caught our eye recently is the stunning Thuja, a tadpole style cargo bike that has a broad spacing of two front wheels, inside of which there’s a large cargo hold that can be adapted to suit your needs.

Van Raam deploys a mid-motor between the cranks and one that’s capable of delivering 75Nm of torque, which is about right for a cargo bike with an admittedly heavy (58kg) weight. This is something to consider when buying such a bike, especially if you have any steps at home that may make storage difficult.

VanRaam has a Thuja configurator tool online that will let you decide whether to plump for the standard 522Wh or oversized 846Wh removable battery. At the upper end of the range estimate, this could get you as far as 70km with fair use of the pedal assistance.

Tenways CGO009

tENWAYS ELECTRIC BIKES LEEDS

£1,899 | View offer

There’s a lot to like about the Tenways CGO009, with its sleek frame design and minimalist display, plus easy to use control module keeping everything clean and user-friendly.

This is an electric bike that appeals to the commuter that wants something visually attractive and also ultra-low maintenance. Quite appealing to us was the software element, with a Smart GPS module that will help you navigate your way around town.

There’s a swept back handlebar too which promotes an upright riding position and thus comfort as you make progress. The pedal-assist is powered from the rear wheel, drawing on a fair-sized 374Wh battery. It’s an efficient mover too, courtesy of round profile and puncture resistant 55mm tyres that have enough volume to dull road vibration, but otherwise glide on the tarmac.

Roxform Porto S

Roxform’s Porto stood out at our 2025 test series as one of those electric bikes that packed a lot more value than the low price point might suggest. We enquired how they had achieved such sharp pricing, especially considering the fact that these e-bikes are assembled in Europe and we’re pleased to be presented with a testing certificate that validated the strength of that rear tail, onto which you can park two children.

You may well find by the time our Demo Days roll around that Roxform has on track an enhanced spec version of the Porto S too, one which upgrades from a derailleur gearing to the sublime shifting of a continuously variable hub. The Porto D, with all its upgrades, is well worth considering, as this spec will allow you to change down gears while at a standstill, making slow speed acceleration from standstill so much more manageable.

With either model there is a pedal-assist, the cheaper £1,800 model driving the experience via a hub motor and the pricier £2,290 build gaining a punchier mid-drive motor. Each can host a double-battery setup, if you choose to make the upgrade and unlock extra range, but as standard a 468Wh battery will assist you for around 40 miles.

Roxform’s longtails are happy to host 190kg, inclusive of the rider. The suggested distribution of the weight is up to 120kg for the rider, 50kg out on the tail of the bike and 20kg on the front rack, though it certainly looks sturdy enough to take a little more.

EGO Movement Curie

Beginning to land in stock with UK retailers from 2026, EGO Movement brings a little Swiss style to the Demo Days, something given away by the glowing cross on the headtube which serves as one of two wired-in lights; one to be seen and another stringer headlamp to see the road ahead at night.

For those looking for something elegant and seamless piece of design, the Curie has a frame that integrates the pannier packing system into the main tubing, all the while hosting a wired-in rear lighting system inside that.

As an urban bike the geometry is relaxed, with a swept-back handlebar curving toward you and positioned in the centre there’s an SP Connect phone mount that’s easy to miss, but helpful if you need in-ride navigation.

Parked between the cranks is a Shimano EP8 mid-motor, from which you can tap into up to 85Nm of torque, which for an urban bike is very punchy. Driving that power to the wheels is a low maintenance and silent Gates belt drive. The integrated battery has a very respectable 531Wh capacity, which will comfortably handle a few day’s commuting in most cities.

Once again, if you’d like to book tickets, here’s that link. Our tracks open at 10AM and close at 4PM each day.
