Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) sub-brand Geely Galaxy has previewed a new hybrid model to sustain its robust growth in the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) segment.

Geely Galaxy shared the first preview images of the M7 on Weibo Monday, describing it as a mid-size SUV (sport utility vehicle).

The M7 will feature Geely’s Golden Battery with a 225-kilometer battery range. With a full tank and fully charged battery, the model offers a combined range exceeding 1,730 kilometers, according to the brand.

The vehicle will be the second model in Geely Galaxy’s M series, following the rollout of the M9 in September 2025.

Judging by the M7’s naming, its price is expected to be lower than the M9’s discounted price of RMB 173,800 ($25,000).

The model appeared in a regulatory catalog from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in December, revealing dimensions of 4,770 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm.

The mid-size hybrid SUV’s appearance and dimensions resemble another Geely Galaxy model, the L7, which measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm.

Geely Galaxy originally launched as a new product lineup on February 23, 2023. On March 3, 2025, Geely announced the upgrade of Geely Galaxy from a product lineup to a new brand.

The new brand has launched multiple models over the past year, all priced competitively, driving robust sales growth for Geely Auto.

Geely Auto recorded January sales of 270,167 units, marking a 1.29% year-on-year increase and a 14.08% rise from December, according to data released Sunday.

PHEVs emerged as a highlight for Geely Auto, with January sales reaching 56,240 units — a 36.91% year-on-year increase, though down 25.15% from December.

Geely Galaxy was Geely Auto’s top-selling brand in January, with the sub-brand posting sales of 82,990 units, despite an 11.28% year-on-year decline amid industry-wide weakness.
