The German automobile club ADAC has updated its database with the results of electric vehicle tests, identifying the models with the lowest energy consumption in real-world conditions. All cars were evaluated using the standardized Ecotest methodology, with data current as of January 27, 2026.These tests reveal that actual consumption often differs significantly from WLTP figures. For instance, the Tesla Model 3, with a certified rating of 13.2 kWh, actually consumes 17.2 kWh, landing it only in 21st place.Seventh place went to the Peugeot e-308, which used 16.3 kWh. The Peugeot e-208 took sixth with 16.0 kWh. Fifth place was claimed by the Fiat 500e, recording 15.9 kWh in the ADAC test. The Hyundai Inster secured fourth with the same consumption figure but a smaller deviation from its WLTP rating.Third place was awarded to the Hyundai Ioniq 6, with a real-world consumption of 15.5 kWh. The Mini Aceman SE came in second with an identical result. Topping the ranking was the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ EQ Progressive, consuming just 13.4 kWh under real conditions.According to ADAC, these models currently represent the most economical vehicles in the electric car segment.
