The worlds of video games and the automotive industry are joining forces once again in a historic milestone for Asian technology. Starting January 29, 2026, speed enthusiasts will be able to get behind the wheel of the highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7. This addition, which comes as part of the free 1.67 update, marks the first time the technology brand has broken into the most realistic driving simulator on the market, consolidating its position not only as a device manufacturer but also as a benchmark for high performance.
What makes the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra such a special car in the game?
The arrival of this vehicle is not just a simple aesthetic collaboration. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a true technical beast that redefines what we expect from an electric car. Thanks to the Xiaomi Hyper Tri-Motor system, the car boasts a combined power output of 1,548 horsepower. On the virtual asphalt of PlayStation, this translates into heart-stopping acceleration: it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds.
To ensure that the experience is identical to reality, Xiaomi engineers traveled to Polyphony Digital’s offices in Fukuoka, Japan. There, they worked closely with Kazunori Yamauchi’s team to validate that the physics, sound, and response of the car on the DualSense controller accurately reflect the behavior of its components, such as the 800V platform and advanced adaptive suspension system.
How does this collaboration impact PlayStation players?
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra holds the record for electric executive vehicles at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, with a time of 7:04.957. Now, any PS4 or PS5 console owner can try to replicate that feat from the comfort of their own home.
In addition to the arrival of the car, players will be able to participate in exclusive activities:
Challenge at Monza: An official time trial will be organized for two weeks at the historic Italian circuit.Visual fidelity: The digital model has been recreated with pinpoint accuracy, allowing you to appreciate the aerodynamic design that gives it stability at high speeds.Automotive culture: The inclusion of Xiaomi in the Gran Turismo “encyclopedia” validates the brand’s efforts to be recognized among the most traditional manufacturers in the sector.

For Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, this alliance seeks to make gamers around the world appreciate the “charm of smart vehicles.” After being successfully exhibited in countries such as Spain and Germany during 2025, the SU7 Ultra uses Sony’s platform to demonstrate that an electric car is not only environmentally friendly and practical—with its 630 km range and fast charging—but can also be the king of the track. It is, in essence, a statement of intent about the future of global mobility.
