This man’s Tesla battery died on him – again.
And he documented the entire process of what happens next.

Man’s Tesla battery dies – for the THIRD time
Today’s story concerns a topic that not many people think about.
The video in question comes courtesy of the WHAT’S INSIDE? FAMILY YouTube channel.
And it details the process of what happens when your Tesla battery dies.
Presenter Dan started by noting that his family has owned nine different Tesla models over the years.
Out of that nine, three have lost their EV battery capabilities.
That’s a failure rate of 33 percent, which is quite remarkable.
But this video focused on the second-most recent of the family’s Tesla cars – their all-black Model S.
According to Dan, the battery died on this car ‘really quite quickly,’ after just 67,000 miles.
One day, the car had 330 miles of range, and the next, the range drained completely down to zero.
Could this process actually end positively?
Dan explains that there might be good news, though.
Because the warranty is supposed to be valid for either eight years or 100,000 miles.
Due to how dead the battery was, Dan had to try to get enough charge into it to get the car loaded onto a flatbed truck.
Thankfully, they finally managed to get the car secured and sent off to the Tesla repair shop.
It turns out that the problem is the entire battery system, not just the 12V battery.
But they replaced the old Tesla battery with a new ‘refurbished’ battery pack.
So what happened to the original battery pack for it to fail?
Tesla explained that it is a unique phenomenon called ‘isolated degradation.’
To put it simply, when a rogue battery cell goes dead, it can have a domino effect on the entire battery pack.
But something amazing happened – Dan now has more range than he had with his old Tesla battery.
He ended the video by saying that this is the ‘best thing that could have happened.’
His range is 60-70 miles greater than it was before. That’s definitely a positive ending!
