In the Netherlands, MX Club MCC De Kempen has officially installed a charging infrastructure with six chargers directly on their motocross circuit. This initiative sends a strong and unmistakable signal: electric motocross is no longer a future concept, it is becoming a practical reality.

Addressing the core problems of traditional motocross
For decades, motocross has faced growing pressure from society, local governments, and environmental organizations. The reasons are well known:
Noise pollution, often leading to restricted riding hours or the closure of tracks
Exhaust emissions, contributing to air pollution and climate concerns
Ecological impact on surrounding nature and local communities
These challenges have increasingly threatened the survival of motocross facilities across the Benelux.

Electric MX as a real solution
Electric motocross directly addresses these long-standing problems:
Near-silent operation dramatically reduces noise complaints
Zero local emissions, improving air quality at and around the circuit
Lower environmental impact, making coexistence with nature (and neighbours!) more realistic
With electric motorbikes, riding becomes compatible with stricter environmental regulations, without sacrificing performance, torque, or riding excitement.

MCC De Kempen sets an example
By installing six charging stations at their circuit, MCC De Kempen sets an example to actively support electric MX infrastructure. This move removes one of the biggest remaining barriers for electric riders: access to reliable charging during race days and training sessions.

More importantly, it shows vision and leadership. Clubs that invest in electric infrastructure are future-proofing their facilities and opening the door to new riders, sponsors, and partnerships.
A signal to the motocross world
This development is more than a local upgrade, it’s a message to the entire motocross community:
Electric motocross is not a threat to the sport.
It is a lifeline.
As pressure on combustion engines continues to increase, electric MX offers a path forward where motocross can continue to grow, innovate, and exist in harmony with its surroundings.

The future starts now
The initiative by MCC De Kempen proves that solutions already exist. What’s needed now is adoption, investment, and courage from clubs, federations, and manufacturers.
Electric motocross is no longer the question.
It is the answer.
