WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Police and Fire Foundation, in partnership with QuikTrip, presented five electric bicycles to the Wichita Police Department on Tuesday.

Officers said the bikes allow them to reach places their patrol cars cannot.

“It also increases our community engagement since there’s a barrier when you’re sitting in a police car. On a bike, we can get out and reach our community even better,” Mark Oliverson, a WPD officer.

With the addition, the Wichita Police Department now has four to five e-bikes for each bureau.
