Launched in tandem with its next-generation E-Max, Ahooga has revealed a custom paint programme, adding a bespoke element to one of our best-rated electric folding bikes.
Available from from the end of March as part of the brand’s website overhaul, customers can now go bespoke with 20 frame colours that can be set against one another on the main and rear frame. What’s more, the paint finish can come in either a gloss or matte finish, plus customers can add personal text overlaid to make sure their bike is totally unique.
Ahooga today launches four new models, inclusive of two electric models, which advance steadily beyond the E-Max that we reviewed here on Cycling Electric last year. In fact, if you head over to our reviews section, you’ll see our updated analysis on the new generation model, which makes significant gains in its motor performance, battery efficiency and even introduces a few new patents like a clever derailleur hanger that rotates to ensure chains don’t drop as you fold the bike. Best of all, the brand has managed to shave a full 2kg off its prior flagship model making it a joy to handle.
On the electric assist side, the two models going on sale include an Ahooga E-MAX with a Microshift short cage Acolyte derailleur, sold at €2,999 and weighing 17kg and an Alifine 8 system, sold at €3,499 and weighing 18kg. To tap into the custom paint services, head to the website to find the brand’s custom painter, which has a €349 base cost, plus €99 for a custom name imprint. The lead time from order to delivery for custom paint is estimated at between six and eight weeks.
Ahooga will see its bikes at several bike endurance tests throughout 2026, following the successful Race around Rwanda challenge undertaken by Ahooga sales rep, Stuart Jefka. The bikes will be seen at several of the classic cycling races, including Omloop het Nieuwsblad, Paris-Roubaix and Race across Germany.
